It’s not every day that listeners are greeted with an eclectic, far-reaching body of work that awakens all senses. Today happens to be one of those days, as Denver native, Lil Christy, just released his grasp around a phenomenal collection of songs with his new album PLAYING WITH EMOTIONS. After making an appearance on Green Tea Magazine his past September following the release of his single “Blue Death Eyes”, Lil Christy is here to keep the momentum flowing, and show music fans across the globe that he’s here to stay.
With a total of six songs that sit just north of 15 minutes in length, PLAYING WITH EMOTIONS is a genre-blending, otherworldly moment in Lil Christy’s career. Each song is some of his best work yet, as they blend together to create an aura that captivates the listener. It’s an incredibly cohesive listen, and gives fans a peak into just how formidable of an artist he is. Though we firmly believe that this project is one that should be listened to in sequential order, two of our biggest highlights from the track list are “Its me, my life.” and “WaterDripSlide”. These two songs are instantly infectious, and profoundly addictive.
Taking some time to share with us some of what motivated the creation of this project, Lil Christy told us:
For this album, I wanted to create a project based on the emotions that I had throughout my time making music. There’s a mix of Hyperpop, Pop and Hip-Hop throughout the six songs. When listening to this album, you should feel an uplifting, exciting feeling, as well as a sad, more down-to-Earth feeling. The overall message is that we all can be happy, but there are also days when we can be sad. I wanted to portray this through the songs, let listeners know that no one is alone. You can get a hype feel, but also a sad feel, throughout the album.

Equipped with both lyrical and sonic prowess, PLAYING WITH EMOTIONS is an exceptional example of Lil Christy’s artistic evolution. As proceed through the early months of the year, he’s already working towards the goals he’s set for 2024. One of his main priorities is to work with new artists and producers. On top of this, Lil Christy is aiming to get his clothing brand off the ground, and finish creating his very first music video. 2024 is the year where Lil Christy is expected to reach more music fans than ever before, and as his new music and creative assets continue to debut, it’s safe to say that he’s going to soar to new highs.
